Background:
An Assistant Professor has
developed his/her own research and teaching interests and is becoming known
nationally for his/her work. They will effectively contribute to curriculum
development, publish regularly in peer-reviewed international journals or other
appropriate outlets and are likely to have edited collections of work or
meeting proceedings. They will also have chaired sessions at, or have been part
of, the organising committees of academic conferences or relevant disciplinary
meetings. They should be beginning to show Academic Leadership in their
teaching and/or their research speciality and be involved in administrative
duties at least at Department/School level.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- PhD
in relevant field, with at least 5 years of teaching experience at the
Lecturer rank or equivalent OR
- Master’s
with MBBS and Fiji Medical Council specialist registration OR
- Masters
in the relevant PH discipline and Fellowship registration of the relevant
international colleges (e.g., Australasian College, etc.)
- Demonstrated
evidence of research and/or publication record • Demonstrated evidence in
learning and teaching and the potential to become an effective teacher.

Service (contributions to the wider profession).
- Academic
Leadership and collegiality.
Desirable:
- Administrative
duties.
- Demonstrates
evidence of ongoing research.
Salary: FJD68,352.00 gross per annum plus 10% superannuation
