Background: 

This position is responsible for supervision of the day-to-day operation of the laboratories in order to ensure safe and efficient delivery of technical support services in the teaching and research laboratories. To assist students with assignments and demonstrate techniques in the use of specialized equipment; may supervises the work of student assistants; and perform related work as required.  

Person Specification: 

Essential:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field.
• At least four years of laboratory experience, preferably in a tertiary institution
• Some experience in supervising staff 
• Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory related OHS issues and hazardous materials management
• Demonstrated knowledge of living laboratories in agriculture, fisheries, forestry and/ or animal science
• Experience in the care and maintenance of analytical balances and other routine laboratory instruments and apparatus.

Desirable:

·         Additional work experience will be added advantage.

Salary: FJD37,096 gross per annum plus 10% superannuation
