Background:
The
Pro Vice Chancellor Corporate Services is a key strategic role in the
University’s Senior Leadership Team, supporting the Vice Chancellor in the
management and effective operation of the University. The Pro Vice Chancellor
Corporate will make a significant contribution to strategy and decision making
and drive performance across the institution in both administrative and
business-related operations.
The University’s progress and development is
at the heart of the role, ensuring that the University is competitive in terms
of resources, efficiency, and quality of service provision. A leader of the
organisational culture and values, the Pro Vice Chancellor Corporate shares
responsibility for promoting the University and enhancing its reputation.
The
Pro Vice Chancellor Corporate Services will lead the University’s Directors (Director Marketing and Communications, Director
Estates and Facilities, Director Information Technology Services) and
ensure these professional services are cohesive, efficient and provide high
quality services to staff, students, and their areas of responsibility are
focused on achieving the objectives of the University’s strategy. He/She will
also attend to other duties as required by the Vice Chancellor.
The post-holder may be asked to deputise for
the Vice-Chancellor on occasions.
Person Specification:
Essential
- A PhD in a relevant
discipline OR
- A Masters in a
relevant discipline
- A professional
membership of a recognised institution.
- Demonstrable experience in financial, human
resources, information technology services, infrastructure and marketing
management, and commercial development.
- Strong leadership experience in a complex organisation or in the
context of a higher education.
- Ability to lead and
successfully manage a growth agenda and organisational capacity building in a
complex institution.
- A strong career track
record of leading, delivering and developing diverse professional services
which underpin a large and complex organisation.
- Experience in overseeing major capital and/or
innovation projects.
- Experience of working in a dynamic and changing workplace environment.
- Experience in
stakeholder management and delivery of strategic planning objectives.
Experience:
- Applicants with PhD qualification must have a
minimum of 15 years of diverse and progressive work experience, of which 10 years
of experience should be in senior leadership position of an academic
institution or the corporate sector or public sector OR
- Applicants with master’s qualification must have a minimum of 20 years
of diverse and progressive work experience, of which 10 years of experience
should be in senior leadership position of an academic institution or the
corporate sector or public sector.
Desirable:
- An earned PhD or equivalent.
Salary: An attractive salary commensurate with
qualifications, experience and abilities would be negotiated with the
