Background: 

This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring researcher to join FNU’s Communicable Diseases Research Centre (CDRC), which was established in 2019. The Research Coordinator is a specialized researcher who will lead completion of the Population based age-stratified assessment of SARS-CoV-2 seropositivity (PASS) project and the work of new research project initiatives of the Communicable Disease Research Centre (CDRC) such as the Arbovirus and Other Emerging Virus Infections in Fiji: AEVI-Fiji cohort” and the  Human Papillomavirus study, etc, to ensure that research and project outcomes are achieved within the timelines given. The Research Coordinator will be based in the CDRC, of FIPHR at the CMNHS. This is a project-based position leading sequences of studies in the centre until at least 2028.

Person Specification: 

Essential

  • Master’s degree in health research methods, epidemiology, public health or similar with 4 years related work experience.
  • Or PG qualification in health research methods, epidemiology, public health or similar, with 6 years related work experience.
  • Prior experience in health research projects in Fiji and/or the Pacific with demonstrable experience in research protocol development and implementation (publications in communicable disease research will be highly regarded).
  • Fluency or high-level professional proficiency in English is required, with experience in report writing for funding agencies.
  • Prior experience with capacity building or training methods. 
  • Prior research data management experience and experience with statistical software.

Desirable

  • Is an MBBS graduate

Salary: FJD45,247.00 to FJD70,698.00 gross per annum plus 10% superannuation
