At present, FNU educates about 24,000 students per annum and employs approximately 1,600 employees.  This EOI is an opportunity for job seekers to express their interest to be part of FNU’s growing workforce.

Key Duties:

Support Positions:

The role of an employee in the support stream is to provide technical and administrative support in the respective divisions/ college. Incumbents will be required to carry-out the duties assigned by the immediate supervisor. Expression of Interest can be submitted in the areas of unestablished/waged employees (paid on an hourly basis) and established/ salaried employees (paid on a fortnightly basis).

Academic Positions:

Higher Education:

The role of an academic in the higher education (HE) stream at FNU is to carry out teaching and research which aligns with the mission of the University.  In teaching, this means that teaching must be high-quality, innovative, and relevant, reflecting wider developments in the professional area.  Academics should be connected to the relevant professional area and understand the environment in which their graduates will work.  In research, this means that research should be applied and relevant to the national priorities of Fiji and the region.  Academic publications in peer-reviewed journals and commissioned reports for government and organisations are important.

TVET:

The role of an academic in the TVET stream at FNU is to carry out teaching and training and industry engagement and applied research which aligns with the mission of the University.  In teaching, this means that teaching and training must be high-quality, innovative, and relevant, and informed by industry’s needs. In industry engagement and applied research, this means that academics should be closely involved with employers and ensure that they are up to date with industry’s current needs and priorities.

Person Specification:

Applicants submitting EOI’s must clearly specify in their covering letter their areas of interest (position and the employment stream i.e., support/ academic) and outline their work experience in the curriculum vitae.
