Background The Network Performance Analyst role is to ensure the stability and integrity of the complete FNU’s ICT infrastructure, which includes voice, data, video, web based and wireless network services. This involves capacity planning and monitoring and analysis of the usage of current ICT resources and taking proactive measures to minimize. Report on network performance with aid of necessary monitoring and analysis software. 
Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for complete network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
• Ensure network system integrity by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
• Establish the network monitoring and analysis center (NMC), by setting up full system monitoring elements, instructing staff to carry out certain monitoring and traffic analysis. 
• Monitors Network for performance and problems. Ensures on-call Senior ICT Officer is available for all ICT equipment for weekdays and weekends. 
• Establishing minimum network performance standards, and procedures to measure and analyze.  
• Submit regular reports highlighting, issues, and trends with recommendations.
• Liaison between division's technical staff, campus staff and external service providers. Inform all stakeholders of   any service outages.
• Minimize all risks and ensure execution of a periodic backup of essential files and datasets, including the ability to restore selected files/datasets upon request in an expeditious manner.
• Based on network performance analysis assist to recommend purchase of all network related equipment for computer systems and infrastructure, including but not limited to cable, routers, switches, software and manuals, in reference to the set performance standards.
• Act as a member of the ICT Administration team. Perform standard and established tasks on ICT Operational & Development work for ICT Team.
• Responsible for proactive budget management and assist in submissions for capital expenditure.  
• Lead the process of providing training and documentation to users in the division. Help identify technology training needs for users and arrange appropriate training opportunities. 
• Manage the Change Over of all projects implemented by ICT including software changes by MIS.
• Ensures the stable operation of the in-house computer network and all connected PCs and peripherals, including planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links.
• Works with the Service and Support team to create procedures, documentation, and train staff when required.
• Responsible for all major activities for the ICT Development as mentioned in Job summary above.
• Ensure proactive support with peers in network to cultivate teamwork
• Responsible for skill & career development of team 
• Provide backup support for network/server installations, ad-hoc reporting, and other tasks in the department when staff are out and on some weekends and evenings.  
• Lead the ongoing process of keeping an accurate inventory of hardware and software deployed at FNU wide and installing any new hardware or software as needed. 
• Perform and Monitor of Critical Infrastructure network on a daily basis and assign the task to associated engineers. 
• Provide a weekly report to Manager Infrastructure on department activities of network and server end. Also, submit analysis on all critical services and storage. 
• Update and provide service outage report on weekly basis and any other report when requested.
• Ensure the monitoring software and servers are maintained with the latest patches.

Person Specification:

• A Degree in Computer Science and Information Technology or in relevant field with at least 4 years of experience in Networking or relevant field 

• Ability to express complex situational information verbally and in written form 
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills
• Exceptional documentation skills 
• Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision  
• Ability to work well under pressure 
• Must have knowledge of Monitoring software  
Salary Base salary of $34,105.00 plus 10% superannuation
