Background The position of Academic Officer is one of high responsibility, demanding a high degree of professional expertise and integrity.The Academic Officer will play a key role in unit activation, CEB, CAB, open day, graduation, managing the college handbook and other student related academic functions for CMNHS through the office of the Dean CMNHS.
Key Duties:

The Academic Officer will assist in the management of the following tasks at CMNHS:
• Preparing and analysing timely departmental reports.
• Secretariat for the College Exam Board and College Academic Board meetings.
• Communicate with Heads of Schools, Heads of Departments and Other relevant staff members on L&T issues.
• Handle the elective students program for the college.
• Assist in graduation ceremonies and open day for the college.
• Prepare and compile CEB, CAB, SPRC  and Senate documents for the Dean
• Handling student queries of various natures in accordance with Fiji National University Academic and Student Regulations and established guidelines.
• Organize work and ensure efficient operation of the Administration office. Work closely with the college EO.
• Exercise operational leadership leading to teamwork, collaboration and information sharing to foster exceptional customer service.
• Contribute effectively to the development of academic services’ policies and function of College Learning & Teaching office. 

Person Specification: 

• A recognised Bachelor’s degree in  Education, Public Health, or any other Basic Sciences degree with two years of relevant work experience.
• Applicants must be knowledgeable with the principles and practices of organization, planning, records management and general administration with the ability to communicate effectively. 
• Aplicants must know how to take proper minutes.
• Applicant should be a team player and willing to perform duties outside working hours if required from time to time.

• Experience within the academic sector in academic management or in academic delivery of programmes or in similar roles in non-academic sectors.
• Previous work experience in tertiary institutions.
• Previous experience working with databases to generate appropriate reports.

Salary Base salary FJD $28,684 plus 10% superannuation
