Background To operate effectively as part of a technical team at the Estates & Facilities Department of FNU. The Officer is responsible to perform the day to day operations of the department where he/she will be managing all the cost relating to building and civil engineering corrective, preventive and capex projects from the initial calculations to the final cost of the project.  
 
•  Physically perform the day to day operations. 
•  Prepare in house tender and contracts documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client. 
•  No deviation from duties assigned by Engineer Design & Planning and Manager Maintenance & Building Services
•  Ensure all the projects planned for the year are executed in a timely manner thus all project costing to be completed on time.  
•  Physically able to meet job responsibility.
•  Contracted hours are worked.
•  Must work over time when needed to complete assigned task.
•  Ensure to maintain confidentiality at all times as QS will be involved in section budgeting works and estimating project budgets.

 
Person Specification
Essential:
Minimum Qualification to have at least Diploma in Quantity Surveying with 3 years’ experience or any other related Diploma in Engineering such as Civil / structural / Building with 5 years experience. 

Desirable: 
•  Presenting detailed information on the cost of particular elements of work on a periodic basis to enable payment for those works carried out to date.
•  Arranging project progress payments and, at the end of a job, settling the final accounts.
•  Dealing with contractual and legal matters related to the project outcome.
•  Managing costs to make sure that all the projects are within the budget.
•  Preparing comprehensive project estimates.
•  Preparation of tender, contract documentation, conduct feasibility studies, and undertake risk control. 
•  Involved in keeping close tabs on any variations that may lead to cost fluctuations.

Salary Base salary $28,684.00 plus 10% superannuation.
