Background This senior position oversees and manages the Student Support Services functions of the University and associated operations of the FNU. The applicant must demonstrate experience in managing change and have the ability to motivate and train staff to quickly and efficiently adapt to, and embrace change, and effectively deliver on the demands from the Student Support Services Department.
Key Duties:
The appointee will assist the Registrar in development and implementation of high quality student support services in Office of the Registrar of FNU, including the supervision of designated personnel and showing ongoing commitment to designing excellent student support services, its delivery system and outstanding customer services. Specific duties include:
•  Working with the Registrar to establish benchmarks for student support services
•  Measurement of quality in service delivery for allocated department (s) 
•  Construction and monitoring of departmental budget
•  Designing the improvement plans for the services delivered by the allocated department
•  Supervising of key projects related to improving student services function as delegated by the Registrar
•  Implement tactical plans for student support services which includes student welfare support; student organizations, student      engagement/campus life, international student enhancement, centre for students with disabilities, careers services, student sports, counselling services, graduation ceremonies across Colleges and Centre
•  Handling of student general disciplinary cases including appeals as delegated by Registrar and analysis of grievances to improve services
•  Work in liaison with College stakeholders in implementing excellent student services in campuses
•  Representing the student support services at meetings of College committees and other committees on specialism areas as required by the Registrar
•  Conduct gap analysis in processes across the specialisms to improve delivery
•  Ensuring that student records and other relevant statistical data and reports are produced and disseminated in a timely manner and as required under University policies
•  Ensure all records related to all delegated areas are preserved 
•  Representing the Registrar in meetings with stakeholders outside the University as required
•  Ensure the implementation and maintenance of appropriate governance and accountability frameworks in the designated areas to ensure full regulatory compliance to FNU policies
•  He/she shall provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Vice-Chancellor through the Office of Registrar in continuous improvement of FNU policies and practices on student services.

Person Specification:
Applicant must meet all the essential criteria:
Postgraduate degree with 10 years of progressively responsible experience in post-secondary environment in service provision to students.
Relevant experience must include a minimum of 3 years’ experience in managerial level in education sector in supervising, driving and managing change, evaluating the change, reporting and project management.
Experience of proactively developing services and delivery of student information, advice and guidance.
Demonstrated knowledge of developments in Higher Education locally and internationally which may have an impact on the delivery of Student Services.

Relevant experience in tertiary institutions.
Experience in educational policy review and development.
Experience in building network of contacts in other organizations as a basis for identifying points of comparison and good practice elsewhere.

Salary Base salary - $72,030 plus 10% superannuation
