Background The Technician will be based at Derrick Campus in Fabrication and Welding Workshop and will report to the HOD- Manufacturing and Printing Technology, under School of Mechanical Engineering.  
  This person will be required to assist students and Lecturers/Instructors during practical classes in the workshop and laboratory. He/she will also be required to ensure that all equipment, tools and machines are in order for practical classes. This position will be attached to the School of Mechanical Engineering.
 
Person Specification :
Essential
• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline with at least 2 years of post-degree work experience OR Diploma in relevant field with at least 4 years of relevant work experience. 

Desirable
• Good GPA with at least 2 years of working experience. Active and Fast leaner, always be prepared before classes. Provide support service to all academic staff in the laboratory or workshop. Also ensure that all activities associated with Workshop activities are in readiness, work is performed through the application of a body of knowledge related to standard workshop methods, practices, procedures, policies, regulations, and laboratory/ workshop materials and equipment with strict application of OHS principles constantly at work.

• Applicant with higher qualification will have an added advantage.

Salary Base salary - $22,931.00 plus 10% superannuation .
