Background A tutor is a support role, who is responsible for assisting qualified teaching staff with tutorials, seminars, workshops and laboratories.  Tutors work under the supervision of qualified teaching staff.
  Responsible to the Dean, through the Head of School, the appointee will be required to Assist in Lecturing/Laboratory Practical/Tutorials/Invigilation/Marking of Certificate IV in Geology, Mining & Quarrying units for the School of Building and Civil Engineering. The appointee would be required to assist in the development of the lab adequate to the Geology, Mining & Quarrying program and together with that would also be required to assist in further development of the program. Also involve in marking and reporting of assessments of the units taught under the supervision of Head of School. Marking are to be implemented according to policies and procedures. The appointee is required to participate in the school developmental activities, assist Head of School with preparation of examination results and other relevant activities.
Person Specification:
•  Advanced Diploma/ Diploma (level 6) in Geology

•  Prior teaching experience in the relevant field
•  Experience in Geo-Technical Investigation and Lab testing
•  Higher qualification
•  Strong mathematical skills

Salary Base salary of $19,841.00 plus 10% superannuation
