Background Assistant lecturers may publish research papers and present their work at conferences but the primary research activity will be directed to completing their master’s requirements. They will be able to teach units, but normally not required to develop curriculum. Assistant Lecturers are full members of their department and should be starting to take on limited administrative tasks.
 
The appointee will be responsible to develop and teach Mathematics units at undergraduate level. Duties include carrying out research and consultancy activities in the areas relevant to the needs of the community, activities related to teaching such as regular review of units and programmes, development of new programmes and mentoring of junior staff and students. Activities associated with tutorials, lecturing, exam paper preparation and marking are to be implemented according to policies and procedures.

 
Person Specification
Essential
•  PG Certificate/Diploma in Mathematics OR Bachelors (Hons) in the relevant field

Desirable
•  Undertake research and teaching duties while completing a Master’s degree
•  A relevant Master’s degree
•  Prior teaching experience
•  Formal tertiary teaching qualification

Salary Base salary $30,694.00 plus 10% superannuation
