Background Assistant lecturers may publish research papers and present their work at conferences but the primary research activity will be directed to completing their master’s requirements. They will be able to teach units, but normally not required to develop curriculum. Assistant Lecturers are full members of their department and should be starting to take on  administrative tasks.
  The appointee will be responsible to the Dean, through the Head of School, Head of Department and will be required to teach Law courses at undergraduate level including marking and reporting of assessments in the area of Law. Activities associated with tutorials, lecturing, preparing and marking of examination papers are to be implemented according to policies and procedures and is willing and able to take on additional responsibility whether it be teaching or others.
Person Specification
•  PG Certificate/Diploma in Law OR Bachelors (Hons) in Law

•  Applicant must have at least 3 years post bar admission experience in legal practice with experience in teaching tertiary law courses OR have a formal teaching qualification with at least 3 years post bar admission experience in legal practice OR have higher qualifications and experience in the relevant field. 
•  Applicant must have experience in mentoring law students.
•  Undertake research and teaching duties while completing a master’s degree
•  Willing to take additional administrative or academic duties as required by the Department, School, College or University from time to time. 
•  Ability to work extra hours as when required
•  Ability to teach both day and night classes.
•  Be familiar with enrollment and graduation procedures.
•  Applicants with tertiary teaching experience will be an added advantage. 

Salary Base salary $30,694.00 plus 10% superannuation.
